Chelsea spent most of her life running.

She was young when her parents were killed, and she was thrown into the system as just another statistic. One foster home after another, hell after hell. When things got too hard, her first instinct was to get out and fast.

She didn’t mind being a club girl. Who wouldn't want a group of possessive alpha males on your side and in your bed? The freedom and the lifestyle allowed her to spread her wings while the rules and bylaws kept everyone in line. It was comfortable – safe.

But while her head told her she was happy, her heart reminded her constantly of what she really wanted – Brothers by Blood President, Optimus. He was a brooding asshole who was sexy, loyal and pushed the boundaries of both her body and her mind. He never let her all the way in, but she still couldn't stay away from him – he was addictive.

Optimus had only one rule – family comes first.

He knew that sometimes sacrifices needed to be made in order to keep the ones he loved safe. He'd done it before and he would do it again.

Being President of the Brothers by Blood MC meant he couldn't show any weakness. His feelings for Chelsea were off the charts, but so far he'd managed to hide them and keep her at an arm’s length thinking he was protecting her. Beautiful, athletic and sassy, she wasn't just another club girl, she was HIS girl.

Danger is fast approaching and Chelsea is in its direct sight. Will it be too late for Optimus to show Chelsea how he really feels? And when secrets are revealed will Chelsea stay and stand beside the man she wants or will the urge to run just be too strong?

Excerpt

Without knowing Matt's plans, or of his escape, Marie screamed up at the sky as Matt’s plane flew directly over the hospital. She reached up and wailed as his plane soared higher. She could feel him, feel his pain and it added to her own. She stretched out her arms towards him as she implored him to come back to her. The invisible twin cord was stretching between them and growing tight. It pulled at her soul and pulled at her heart as she felt the distance between them growing. In the corner of the room, the ghost of her mother sat and watched as she sobbed profusely.
"Mamma, he’s leaving," she wailed in anguish.
"Yes, my child, but you will find him again."
"Must I spend my life chasing him?"
Her mother tutted.
"If you had told him, he’d have taken you with him. Didn’t he come for you before?"
"Yes, Mamma." She looked down as the tears dropped on to the floor of her locked hospital room.
The door opened and the doctors walked in. Their white coats flapping around them as they encircled her and looked down. She had been kneeling in the far corner and now she looked up at them, her eyes fearful.

What Others Are Saying

Another book which takes you on a snake twisting and turning journey of disbelief. How to review without giving the many things away? This could be the hardest review to write. This book is so fast paced that the words were literally jumping off the page. ~ Goodreads Review

This books delivers AGAIN! ...
A range of happiness, anger, hate, sadness,OMG,WTH moments as it continues on with Matt's story. So far I have loved to hate Matt throughout the other books. But this one has bought sadness into the mix of my feelings towards him.~ Goodreads Review

Matt is back again after fleeing from the law to America. It’s going to be hard to say much as I don’t want to give anything away that will spoil the enjoyment of this book, but let me tell you that it is a fantastic read, I think this is my favourite of the series! ~ Goodreads Review

As all of the other books in this series, I devoured every sentence from the Foreward to the Epilgoue. My emotions went through the ringer once again. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry! I was shocked and surprised! ~ Goodreads Review

My emotions were all over the place reading this book! I couldn't put it down! I had to know what was going to happen!

The characters and the world that Viveca creates is so ..vivid. I don't know how else to explain it. I'm not going to say anymore for the fear of writing spoilers!

Red Veil of Murder is a page turning emotional dark & twisted ride .. that you definitely need to ride!!

Can't wait to read more from her!!

Count the memories not the calories

So on the weekends my sister stays with me and we try new recipes! This weekend we tried quite a few! First up we made Gheridelli's Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip cookies!!

These were pretty easy to throw together. They were really good!! They were soft & cake-y rather than crispy but I really liked them!!

Next up we made Flourless Cashew Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies!!!

I'll start off by saying that I'm not much of a baker. I always say I'm a better cook than a baker but I was super excited about these cookies!! They are super simple, just a few ingredients and turn out amazing! We made two batches, the first batch we used cashew butter the second batch we used Jif peanut butter because I didn't have anymore cashew butter!

These were the first time I tried flourless cookies! I know I'll be using this recipe all the time now! Here's the recipe I used! You can check out the rest of her recipes here.

Flourless Cashew Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
Yield: makes 1 1/2 dozen cookies
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup cashew butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Set oven to 350F
  2. Whisk the egg and sugar together until well blended. Beat in the baking soda and cashew butter and then fold in the chips.
  3. I use a 1 1/2 inch cookie scoop to scoop out balls of dough. Space them 2 inches apart on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  4. Flatten the balls of dough just slightly with your fingers or a spreading knife.
  5. Bake for about 12-13 minutes. The cookies will puff up and just barely begin to get golden on the edges. They will look soft and a little under done, but will firm up as they cool.
  6. Cool the cookies for a few minutes on the pan, then transfer to a rack.

I loved how these turned out!! I'm pretty sure these are the most perfect cookies that I've ever made!
Erika & I had a blast making them!!

The next batch instead of using mini chocolate chips like the last batch we cut up some Gheridelli chocolate squares! We had dark chocolate and then milk chocolate with sea salt. We cut them up and threw them into the batter.

I'm into photography so of course I had to get some pretty shots!

and I think this might be my favorite shot!

We also made some mini pumpkin pies but I'll put those in another post!

So even though I'm still store, I had a great weekend with my little sister!!

If you try this recipe let me know and send me a picture!! Tag me on Twitter @Jessica_8587 or on Instagram Jessicalynn8587!

*all pictures are mine

Happiness is Homemade

So the end of my week was pretty eventful. On Thursday I was on my way to work when I decided that I want to take a trip down my steps apparently. I didn't break anything but was pretty banged up. I'm still sore and its been 4 days!

My little sister came up and we decided to do a little cooking. On Friday night we made Salmon. This was my first time making it, I looked on Pinterest forever before I decided on how I wanted to make it. I should say that I hate seafood, so for me to eat fish.. I want it to not taste fishy! My husband loves seafood (He's from the Pacific Northwest and grew up with it.), but being from West Virginia I tend to like more comfort foods.

Anyways! I did a Blackened Salmon .. I used this recipe for inspiration from Creole Contessa http://creolecontessa.com/2014/09/blackened-salmon/ I didn't measure anything I just guessed.

The seasonings I used: Creole Seasoning, Garlic Powder, Ground Cumin, Onion Powder, Seasoned Salt, Black Pepper, & Lemon Pepper seasoning.

Here is the seasoning before I put it on the Salmon

Then here's both Salmon fillets after I coated them in the seasonings

Along with the salmon we had Jasmine rice and a little bit of lime for the fish.

It was a success! We both liked it. It was very seasoned and didn't taste that fishy at all which is exactly what I wanted!!

Melted Crayon Art!

So this is the 3rd melted crayon art that I've done and I think it might be my favorite! This time we used black canvas, along with glitter & metallic crayons!

I love that shot! Here is the whole picture!

These little DIY projects are super easy! The most time consuming thing is gluing the crayons to the canvas! My little sister stays with me on the weekends for "sister time" and we like to do some kind of craft or make a new recipe! This time we did both! Here is her crayon art, along with my cousin Kristopher's art

So after all that fun! Erika (my sister) and I made Chicken Fajitas for the first time! I'm not a fan of peppers at all! But I'm really happy how these turned out, and that I got her in the chicken cutting the peppers :). We also attempted homemade nacho cheese. I can't remember where I got the recipe but we didn't like it at all. We ate a few bites then we were done.

I'm waiting for a couple things in the mail to do reviews on so keep an eye out!!

Bridal Shower!

So last week I went to my cousin Heather's bridal shower! I went early to help her sister Brandy decorate and set everything up! I took some pictures so I thought I'd share them here!

Here's the lady of the hour! or I should say hours! We had a blast! I got to hang out with my cousins for a bit, and get to celebrate her getting married! Heather loves tacos so she had a taco bar, along with an ice cream bar! Of course I have to show you!

There was good food, lots of laughs, games, it was just a good evening. For helping out I was given this candle. I'm in love with it! It smells sooo good!! I'm definitely going to look for other scents!

I think it will definitely be on my list of September favorites!!

Tomorrow I'll be posting about some DIY Melted crayon art that I've done the past couple weekends at different family cookouts!

Influenster's Sally Hansen #Airbrushperfectlegs

I thought I would share my most recent review from a week or so ago! I posted it on Instagram but wanted to share it here as well!

So this is the Sally Hansen VoxBox. As you can see it also came with a $2.00 coupon! I was super excited to try this since I'm pretty pale! The tag line is "Smooth on Perfect legs in an instant" It's leg makeup. Going into this the only thing I was worried about was turning orange. You know those horror stories? Yeah, I didn't want to become one!

So let's just say it wasn't THAT bad.. but I did turn orange. I wasn't an oompa loompa or anything but you could definitely tell I had an orange tint! I took a picture but you can't really tell. The picture it looks decent I think but in person it was orange. To say the least I was disappointed. On the bright side it was easy to wash off.

To apply was pretty self explanatory. Put a small dab of the leg makeup in your palm and smooth it over your legs avoiding knees and ankles until last.

So since it didn't work on me I invited my younger sister up and had her to try it on her, and of course it looked great on her!

So while Sally Hansen's Airbrush Perfect Legs leg makeup isn't for everyone, it is a good product. I think it makes such a difference in her legs. She loves it and I don't blame her! Look how tan and smooth it looks!!

I just want to say thank you to Sally Hansen & Influenster for this opportunity to test these products for free!

Introduction

Hello!

I thought I would post this little introduction to let you know what I'll be posting here! Basically it will be a little bit of this and a little bit of that! See how I came up with the name for this blog? I just want one page where I can post about everything! Whether its book reviews (I'm a total bibliophile!), product reviews, recipes I try out or a really cool picture I took. Oh, I love cooking and photography as well as books!

I probably post pictures of my dogs! Austen (yes, she's a girl! I named her after Jane Austen) & Sadie! They are actually sisters and they just turned a year old last month!

So I hope you stick around because I think this will be fun!!!
